these gambling houses to you. I was afraid to because I had

received bribes. Tang Chung told me it was not necessary.

Tang Chung told me that the Inspectors had received bribes.

The 3 striped Sergeants would not allow us to speak to you about the gambling. I dare not speak to you on the subject.

You have always been friendly with me and

trusted me. I did not tell you when I heard that you were

bribed. I dared not speak to you on such a subject. Tang

Chung warned us beforehand not to speak about this.

Besides the two houses mentioned there have

been other places in which gambling went on. They would be

raided. I have heard of gambling in West Point and in Queent

Road West. There has been gambling there for years. There has

also been gambling in Wanchai. I have been told by you to

make out lists of bad characters but not of gamblers.Last

year I did make enquiries for you and Inspector Kemp about

gamblers. It was Kemp that told me to make enquiries. Tse

Leung was one of the men I reported on. He was carrying on

street gambling in Station Street. I have never reported San

Yin to you as a gambler.

Last year several gamblers were sent away.

You made us make the enquiries. We did not report any of the

real masters to you. Tang Chung told us not to do it.
